Guidance for helpers

Side jobs and small businesses for Beezybee helpers

When you take on tasks through Beezybee, you act independently. Beezybee connects users and facilitates payments, but it is not an employer and cannot decide whether you must register a business or pay tax. Discuss your situation early with a tax adviser or tax office.

Beezybee connects users, you make your own decisions

Beezybee brings together people who need help and people who want to take on a task. The contract is made directly between the users involved. You choose which requests to answer, what price to offer and when you are available. There is no employment contract, platform shift plan or promise of regular tasks.

You must check your own obligations. Calling an activity a side job does not determine its official classification. Regularity, scale, an intention to make a profit and your wider employment situation may matter. Beezybee does not assess this for you.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 on Beezybee

The tier system only describes which evidence is on file in your Beezybee profile. It is not an official classification and does not confirm that you may legally perform a particular task.

Tier 1: No business registration document

No business registration document is on file in your profile. You can use only the tasks Beezybee makes available for this tier. Tier 1 does not automatically mean that your activity is tax-free or that no registration is required. Ask the responsible authority about your individual case.

Tier 2: Business registration document on file

You have submitted a business registration document and the proof is on file in your profile. This may provide access to additional suitable tasks. Tier 2 assesses neither the quality of your work nor your tax position. Separate professional licences may still be required.

When to clarify business registration and tax

Do not wait until you have completed several tasks. If you offer services repeatedly or want to expand the activity, contact the tax office or business registration authority early. A tax adviser can assess your combination of main employment, side activity and other income.

Beezybee does not recommend a form, tax category or legal structure for you. From the beginning, keep your task and payout summaries together with your own receipts. Clear records make a later discussion with a qualified professional much easier.

DAC7 in plain language

DAC7 requires digital platforms to collect certain provider and transaction data and, once legal thresholds are reached, report it to the German Federal Central Tax Office. This can include identity details, tax information, relevant transactions and amounts paid out. Beezybee requests required information in the app when needed.

A DAC7 report does not determine whether you owe tax or how much may be due. It is a statutory information report made by the platform. Your personal tax position is separate and should be discussed with a tax adviser or tax office.

Payouts through Stripe

Payouts are processed through Stripe. Stripe may require information about your identity and payout account. That check supports secure payment processing, but it does not replace business or tax registration. Your bank details stay within the Stripe process and are not public profile information.

Your Beezybee area shows the status of payments and payouts. Review the information regularly and contact support if something is incorrect. You remain responsible for retaining records and using them appropriately for your own tax affairs.

Practical checklist before you start

  • Ask the tax office or business registration authority how your specific activity is classified.
  • Use a tax adviser when you need advice about your individual tax position.
  • Keep profile, identity and any business registration details up to date.
  • Retain task summaries, payout records and your own receipts in an orderly way.
  • Do not accept a task if you lack a legally required qualification or permission.

Frequently asked questions

Am I employed by Beezybee as a helper?

No. Beezybee is an intermediary platform and not an employer. You decide which tasks, times and offers suit you. The contract for the task is made directly between the users involved.

Do I need a business registration document for Beezybee tasks?

That depends on your activity and personal circumstances. Tier 1 only means that no business registration document is on file in your profile. Ask the business registration authority, tax office or a tax adviser for a binding assessment.

What does a DAC7 report mean for me?

Once the legal thresholds are reached, Beezybee must report certain provider and transaction data to the German Federal Central Tax Office. The report does not determine whether you owe tax. Discuss personal questions with a tax adviser or tax office.
